“MoKa honey” was founded in 2015. The name comes from the surnames (Moraitis-Kalafatis), of the two families who decided to work together to improve the beekeeping products of their ancestors. John and nuciferous combined their knowledge in order to create the products you enjoy today. John is a graduate of the Agricultural University of Athens, specialized in insects, with many years of research and extensive experience as a beekeeper. Nikiforos is a beekeeper and olive oil producer, having worked for many years at the same time, in advertising and marketing. The bee-farm tourist attraction ("MoKa honey stories tour"), is the activity that really changed the tourist guide of Delphi region. The idea was to accommodate guests and through a wonderful interactive experience, to initiate them to our culture and to the wonderful world of bees. At the area of Itea, the port of Delphi, we created an apiary, from recyclable materials, absolutely harmonized with the environment that anyone can visit. With love and hard work, we gather thrown away materials, mainly wood (pallets etc.) and by recreating them, we build everything we need. Until now we have already hosted, families, couples, large and small groups, from more than 60 countries around the world. It's a great idea for a educational school visit, where kids can learn about the importance of bees in our life and the importance of recycling as well. That is why schools from all over Greece and colleges from many countries are visiting us. It is a very enjoyable, interactive and a fun experience with great interest, where someone can learn about bee's life and its role in human’s life.
